Wichita shows off in Las Vegas
MINExpo is held in Las Vegas from September 27th to the 30th, with over 1,300 exhibitors. This makes it one of the largest mining exhibitions in the world; the previous expo attracted over 36,593* visitors, an average of 9000 visitors a day!
Colfax PT were there, showing the ICP and Formsprag range of clutches and brakes for the mining industry. It was a great success, drawing hundreds in to look at the products and talk to the experts. Wichita and Industrial Clutch have now been providing separate clutches and brakes to mineral processing industries for over 40 years, which means our expertise in controlling the acceleration and deceleration of heavy duty drive systems provides the ideal solution for draglines, shovels, grinding mills, crushers, conveyors, and blasthole drills.
On show was a Spring Set, Pneumatic release model LKB Brake (see above). This design offers a wide range of torque capacities and release pressures, with total attention given to maximising ventilation for dissipating large thermal loads. This is a dry, disc type application, used mainly for shovels and draglines.
The flexibility and design of our products helps to fulfil the many demanding requirements of minerals extraction.
