Make mine a single! Wichita redesign Modevo

Single actuator ModEvo tension brake.

The name ModEvo comes from Wichita’s ‘modular’ – ‘evolutionary’ design of tension brake. The original ModEvo was launched back in 2000. The ModEvo tension brake has been highly successful in the global tension market attracting excellent sales in highly competitive niche markets such as Asia Pacific.

At Wichita every application is individually reviewed to ensure that the best brake is selected for every application. With this review process it became apparent that there was a unique niche for a single actuator ModEvo. The standard ModEvo has dual actuators whereas there was a distinct market demand for a single actuator design for use on light duty tension applications.

Manufacturing production at Wichita is based on the principles of lean manufacturing. This ensures that the single actuator ModEvo brake is manufactured in the most economical way possible, which means that the brake reaches the market at the correct market price.
